Waiting for the Summer Solstice on Skipton Moor

Every year I and a group of of friends climb up the moor, to watch the summer solstice.  This was a spectacular sunrise, This painting is my attempt to capture the hush before the birds begin singing, the excitement and patience of waiting in the pre dawn. It's here under the North Yorkshire skies, that I feel the greatest connection with nature, and relish the feeling of being a tiny passenger in this vast universe.
